The final pictures

This is the original picture, so it hasn't been edited at all. I got this shot of it as a birds eye view to avoid showing the cardboard or the green screen in the background.

In this photo the picture has been edited to make the skittles look brighter and for the zombie hand to look more dead. To get this effect you have to desaturate the hand and put the contrast up, this makes it look more bland. This is my final picture as I love how bright it is and I think it really captures the colour of the sweets.

I wanted to edit the photo further to see what it would look like. This one is in black and white and to achieve that you put the contrast all the way up

After the photos were edited in different ways I wanted to see what it would look like if they were put together, like the famous Andy Warhol painting.

The zombie hand had to look like a zombie so my friend applied face paint and fake blood to the models hand.

Mood Board

Looking at these photos you'll be able to tell none of the photos are partially similar, they're all different styles, different colour spectrums and are of different things. However to me they all have one thing in common, the content. All the photos contain something I like, whether that be people from a tv show or just a place, it's all things I think are cool and I wanted to create a photo which I thought the content and idea of it was really good.

I didn't have a particular idea I wanted to do so I found a lot of images that I liked and tried to come up with an idea that incorporates one of these ideas. I wanted to use sweets in my photograph and I think a lot can be done with sweets and separating the colours. I then was told about the idea of having someone in a bath full of sweets but I thought it would take a lot of sweets to be able to do that. I started to look at images of quicksand and saw one of a zombie hand coming out of the sand, so I decided that I wanted to take a picture of a zombie hand coming out of sweets.

Steal Like an Artist - Part 2

I wanted to take a photo that had lots of colour in it which stood out. I decided to take inspiration from the photo I chose with the fairy lights and piano but add my own twist with it.

To get the effect of the lights being stars I added a bokeh filter to the camera lense. I made it by cutting a circle, the same size as the camera lense, out of card and in the middle of the circular disk cutting out a tiny star shape. I soon realised the smaller the star cutout was the more sharp it looked. When I put the camera out of focus the lights would go into the shape I'd cut out.

I then wanted to experiment with lights but have additional objects in the photo, much like the piano and fairy lights photo. I lighted my hand and had the fairy lights far away from my hand, so my hand was in focus. I really like this photo as it looks like I'm holding stars.

Then in this photo I thought it would be funny to have to starts coming out of someones mouth. These pictures play with perception which the photos I chose to copy didn't, I think I got more inspiration from the photos rather than actually copying them.

Overall the photos I've taken are pretty similar to the originals. The colours are bright and stand out which was something I wanted since the beginning of the task. If I had to change something I would plan the photoshoot more, I didn't plan any of the photos I just made them up as I went along and I think they would've benefited from a little organisation as I could've done bigger things with the photos. But I'm still proud of how the photos came out.
