I wanted to take a photo that had lots of colour in it which stood out. I decided to take inspiration from the photo I chose with the fairy lights and piano but add my own twist with it.
To get the effect of the lights being stars I added a bokeh filter to the camera lense. I made it by cutting a circle, the same size as the camera lense, out of card and in the middle of the circular disk cutting out a tiny star shape. I soon realised the smaller the star cutout was the more sharp it looked. When I put the camera out of focus the lights would go into the shape I'd cut out.
I then wanted to experiment with lights but have additional objects in the photo, much like the piano and fairy lights photo. I lighted my hand and had the fairy lights far away from my hand, so my hand was in focus. I really like this photo as it looks like I'm holding stars.
Then in this photo I thought it would be funny to have to starts coming out of someones mouth. These pictures play with perception which the photos I chose to copy didn't, I think I got more inspiration from the photos rather than actually copying them.
Overall the photos I've taken are pretty similar to the originals. The colours are bright and stand out which was something I wanted since the beginning of the task. If I had to change something I would plan the photoshoot more, I didn't plan any of the photos I just made them up as I went along and I think they would've benefited from a little organisation as I could've done bigger things with the photos. But I'm still proud of how the photos came out.
