In this lesson we did light painting, which is when you can draw in the air using a torch and it is captured on camera. This is achieved by putting the camera on a low shutter speed so it captures the light.
For this spherical effect we put the torch on a string and swung it around. We had a point on the floor which the light had to be over at all times, and then we moved around it to create a light sphere. We experimented with this and try to make, what looks like, a tornado.
Here we tried to make a light igloo. We put the torch on the end of a ruler and had a point on the floor where the ruler had to stay, and the other torch end was moved around to make an igloo. This was quite hard as we only had 30 seconds to do this, as that was the maximum shutter speed.
Here we began to experiment more and I covered myself with fairy lights and moved around for 30 seconds, it came out very colourful and I'm pleased with the results.
